ACP Login Splash

Nov 21 2009, 10:29 PM

The JFB Administration control panel has a new login splash screen. We hope you'll enjoy the updated design.

The design is optimized and tested for view in modern browsers IE 7, 8, and Firefox 3. It should look something like the attached image. Please note that it looks best if you're using the Alpha Blue skin for the Admin CP. Activate it under Admin CP -> General Settings -> Theme choice for the AdminCP. Otherwise it will simply take on the older style.

If you have any issues accessing the control panel after this update, or you find errors in the design, please let us know here. Comments are welcome.

EDIT: I have just updated the logo to match the log in page, and smooth out the text. Hope you all enjoy the new log in page. -Taylor W

Routing Maintenance

Nov 8 2009, 08:02 PM

Monday, November 9th, from 12AM EST to 3AM EST we will be doing maintenance sometime within this window. We need to change up some routing cables again in order to clean up some networking equipment. This should take less than an hour to complete.

Planned Maintenance Notice

Oct 26 2009, 03:55 AM

We will be doing some maintenance on Tuesday early morning at around 2-3AM EST. We estimate this maintenance will last around an hour or two. The server has to be off during this time, so it will be unreachable. This maintenance is partly backup related which is why the downtime is required. The work will be done as quickly as possible and during our hours of least server traffic of course.

Skin Imports & More

Oct 16 2009, 03:09 PM

The import skin files feature is now officially announced and available to all. This is a new feature for Jcink Forum Boards that will change how we all manage skins on our forums for the better. What this means is that it is now easy for you to import, backup/export, and install new skin XML files or pieces of them to mix and match. There is nothing else to do - it's simply one click importing of skin files.

Click here for complete information on the new feature

Additionally, we've made some other changes along the way:

  • Behavior of saving stylsheets and wrappers has changed. No longer redirected after saving changes, making it easier to edit
  • Cleaned up some useless/bugged features from the skinning area (such as color picker, etc).
  • Removed some irrelevant data from the skin set adder.

Two "surprises" with this update also related to skinning/design:

  • You can now store 50 macro, wrapper, stylesheet, and skin sets! We've increased it by 30, so you should have plenty of room for new skins that will come about as a result of this new system.
  • The latest version of jquery is now available automatically on all boards.

I'd also like to thank everybody who helped me test it, along with Gunblaza and card123 for being some of the first to make some of their skins available on this platform. Check the skinning section for some of their work.

Enjoy the update, and let us know of any issues you may have.

Network Problems

Oct 2 2009, 03:43 PM

We are having network problems due to an internet service provider based issue that is affecting all of the New York area and parts of New Jersey. This is causing downtimes for some users. It is being addressed as we speak and should be fully functional again soon.

Some services on our systems are completely down right now, such as Air-Proxy, and others such as the forum service are slow/unreachable for people. Other services such as IRC do not appear as affected. We'll keep you updated.

Apologies for any inconveniences,

Air-Proxy.com Beta

Sep 4 2009, 07:35 PM

The new version of the site has been launched:

http://air-proxy.com:82/

Please feel free to beta test pages out and let me know here if you're having trouble.

As always, understand that it's a proxy site - not all features of pages are going to work. Pages are also loaded with javascript -disabled- when they run through the proxy, so imagine browsing sites like that.

You can post here if something isn't working and I'll confirm if that can be fixed or not.

Thanks!

More attacks

Aug 9 2009, 02:36 PM

This morning from around 10AM EST we suffered another denial of service attack similar to what happened last time. I blocked the offending IP addresses again to solve the problem.

If anyone has any issues legitimately accessing the server after this blocking, please email me at admin@jcink.com

*EDIT*: Looks like I spoke too soon. The attack still continues again. Please do not email me until I give the clear the attack is fully over.

*EDIT 2*: Ok, things appear to be fine now. Attack seems over and blocked for the moment.

Apologies for any inconveniences,

Jcink

JFB Home Page Updates

Aug 7 2009, 01:49 AM

We are pleased to announce the changes made to the JFB service home page earlier today. The new improvements include a wiki search bar to make searching for support FAQ's quicker and easier, new convenience navigation links below the search bar, and slight image changes to give the site a little "kick of slick", for lack of better words.

We hope you enjoy and take advantage of the convenience updates, and are fond of the slightly updated styling.

Also on a side note, a short while ago JFB hit 20,000 boards registered. We would like to thank all our users for helping us reach this goal.

Regards,

JFB Administration

Service Interuption

Jul 26 2009, 12:42 PM

There was a service interruption from around 11:25AM to 12:30PM EST. An "HTTP Flood" attack hammered the service, causing downtime / slow pageloads.

I've dealt with the attack by blocking the IP addresses involved and walling off the IP range of an abusive internet provider (TurkTelecom) along with 20 other IP addresses I found were the source of the problem.

If anyone has any issues legitimately accessing the server, please email me at admin@jcink.com

Apologies for any inconveniences,

Jcink

Webpage Maker Added

Jul 7 2009, 08:03 PM

The custom Webpage Maker is now complete. This is a new feature for Jcink Forum Boards that allows you to create your own webpages within your forums.

You can see the wiki page for information about it here: click here. The feature is located in the AdminCP under Skins & Templates titled "Webpage Maker."

This is also a dual feature release because the webpage files can be used as global wrapper bits. So, that feature has been added alongside this one, and you can read more about what those are and how to take advantage of them for your boards.

We hope you enjoy this new feature and any questions/bug reports/comments are welcome. smile.gif
