This is just a heads up in advance warning that sometime today (Monday, Dec 18th) we're going to have a wee bit of downtime.

The reason for the downtime is to install some hardware. There is a second hard drive in the system which I would like to get working. I have been putting it off because I haven't really needed it and I didnt want to take down the server offline to do it.

But my contract with Dell for support expires on the 21st, and I'd like to get this done before that time, where they'll be able to help.

The drive is even hooked up and everything. All I need them to do is explain to me a few things, such as fixing which hard drive it loads on boot up, how to formatit and mount it and perhaps I may need to add it as slave.

It should be minimal downtime maybe 30 minutes, max should be an hour if all goes fine -- this is not a big deal.

Just letting everyone know in advance. I dont have time that I will start it, but I'd like to do it at night if possible or at least a time I see when not a lot are online.

Two mod installs have been made over the past two days.

#1. ssb|lottery. This is a lottery system that works with the IbStore.

A Lottery mod.

Features:

- Quick Pick(where you don't need to pick the numbers)

- Money Price for each amount of numbers correct(e.g. if I get 0/6 right get nothing(always), 1/6 i get some money, 2/6 I get more money, 3/6 etc)

- Item price for winning for a certain amount of numbers to be correct(like the Prizes)

- Each system of the lottery can set an amount of numbers to choose from and limits the amount of choosing

- Limit how many tickets a user can have

- Sell back ticket

- Display winnings(drawn, open, and closed lottery)

- Manage tickets(View your numbers)

- View all tickets(ACP)

- Admin can't cheat

- Display chances

- Two kinds of lottery

#2. Reputation System

It is Reputation mod updated for use with IPB versions 1.2.x or 1.3.x

In short, it allows users to give each other a 'Reputation'. This system may be used as a board members' rating. So you can find out, whether a member is respected by other members, or is he an empty flooder. This mod also adds extra features, like altering member's titles if they have low/hi Reputation or letting members set their custom titles when they reach some certain amount of Reputation.

Find it in system settings >> Reputation setup in your ACP

The ads should now blend nicely on this forum, as well as with any other forum I have.

I'll be working on doing the same thing for PHPQA and the other services this coming weekend if it all goes OK. The ads should basically:

-Match the bgcolor

-have no borders

-match the link color

This makes them way less obtrusive. and plus it does it all automatically so you wont even need that ad color macro anymore, delete it from your skins.

Ok,

So, for some people Jcink.com works (and all subdomains, box2.jcink.com *.b1.jcink.com, etc), for some it isn't right now, and the reason is that...

http://everyDNS.net is down.

This is the server where I host my domain, and all subdomains. It's seperate from the main server and is a totally different company.

They have over 292,474 domain records on their system, mine being one of them... so since they're offline, so is everything else.

I really don't know why they're offline, or what happened to them, but I'll keep you posted.

This is unusual, because they haven't been down like this since 2003 as far as I know (according to google) so yeah...

There's nothing I can do from my end to solve this since it isn't my problem, just have to wait it out.
