Not really? We have our weird holidays, like Bonfire Night when we all celebrate the fact that Guy Fawkes didn't blow up our houses of parliament and remove a horribly corrupt government from power but instead was burnt alive. But nothing like Thanksgiving. I don't even fully know why you guys have it? Is there some Independance connotations? Or is it just a harvest festival?

It's more of a chance to be to reflect and be thankful for what you have. It all started with the Pilgrims and Indians first feast. Then came the smallpox... lol
Any way, it's more of a day to spend time with family and be thankful for something. I have a long list lol.

Ah yes. The unexpected thanksgiving surprise.
I think William Bradford said that the event, where they all got smallpox, those who died must have been unholy, and it cleared them out.
No smallpox in MY turkey.
I'm more likely to believe that was a coverup for what they did, since Bradford was a columnist himself But he could be right because those indians at the time really had no religion.
