Lo-Fi (Archive)

Aug 9 2006, 03:00 PM

A Lo-Fi (Archive) version, as seen in IPB 2.1.x has been added as per, this suggestion. After some tweaking for the service I finally got it all working (I think).

You can see the link to it down in the copyright, "Archive."

The purpose of a low-fi version is for better google indexing of the forums, and of course, to just give a quick view of the forums.

Cool, is there anyway to add this to the IPB 1.3 service too? Cause vBulletin has it and i'm trying to duplicate it as best I can.

  3. Jcink Says:

It is on the IPB 1.3 service. Look at the bottom. Thats what I said in this thread. <_<; it's pratically just like vBulletins/IPB 2.1s

  4. Sudifice Says:

Omg, I never knew that. Jcink has everything!

OT: Has anyone noticed that forumer's archinve service doesn't work and never has?

Cool feature. But why is there no full version link when you go to the lo-fi version on the top of the page?

  9. Jcink Says:

    There is, though.

Full Version: I see the link?

  10. Sudifice Says:

It shows up in forumview and topicview, but not boardview.

  11. Jcink Says:

That's because it doesnt show the index up there, its only for the forums and topics. :S

Personally I think it should be on the index as well. That's like IPB 2.x, so why shouldn't it be on JFB? <_<

  13. Sudifice Says:

    Agreed to the max yo.

  14. Jcink Says:

I'll try to add it in.

Erm.... All Invisionboards have it I think!

  16. Elite Says:

yeah all IPB boards have it just go down and click archive...

Not all do. Only IPB 2.x boards, IF and JFB boards, and IPB 1.3.x boards that have a modification installed.

Well, that sounds all well and good. But there seems to be a serious problem.

If the lofi version is a copy of the forum, then it defeats the whole point of having permission masks. Lets say you don't have permission to go someplace on a forum yet, you could just click the lofi version and see it.

Is there a way to control the lofi version and what is seen on it? Or maybe there is a way to get rid of the lofi in the copyright?

  19. Jcink Says:

    #1. shouldn't bump old topics.

#2. this isn't the support section

#3... completely false.it only shows a guest forum of the forum, that's it. but if you've found a bug please file a proper report.
