[Maintenance] Hard Drive Install

Tonight, sometime around 12AM, I will be attempting to install a new 500 Gigabyte hard drive. To do this, the second hard drive (80 Gigabytes) has to come out, and the new one put in. This is to increase capacity for the future. I have already copied all the information over from the second drive during the night, and everything is there. Before install, a quick re-sync of changed, and new files will be done so no new information added today will be lost.

I estimate around 15 minutes of downtime for this if all goes according to plan.

This should not affect anyones content on this server, everything is just being mirrored to a bigger, better hard drive.

    I apologize, however... everything did not go according to plan.

    I further checked into the drive and noticed there was a major problem after it was installed. There was corruption on the filesystem, and a fair chunk of the shoutbox service was all corrupted, as well as a few JFB files. I am unsure as to why exactly this happened, and I'll be checking.

    We had to switch back to the old drive again, and I will sort this problem out. This means I will post again when maintenance has to reoccur.

    The drive has been re-formatted and the files are being transferred. So far so good.

    Today, we will be doing the same thing, downtime at 12AM EST if/when the transfer is done, I do not find any corruption.

    The drive was successfully installed, this time, seemingly with no corruption. Will monitor it over the next few days.
