SQL Error

This afternoon around 1:09 PM all forums were unavailable because of a database error looking something like this:

CODE
Got error 28 from storage engine

Or:

CODE
Got error code 28 - no space left on device

I became aware of the problem at 2:03PM EDT.

Noticing the error I checked available space - there was more than plenty on the disk used for boards and hosted files. I regularly monitor that, so of course that was not it. But I looked further - the primary disk that just hosts the main system was full due to old logs that have been piling up over the years.

All is well now that it has been cleaned.

You should not have any problems. Please let me know if your board was affected in any way, though it should not have been.

There is an absolute flood of email in the inbox for admin@jcink.com - I will try to respond to all of you personally but it's difficult.

Routing Issues (again)

As of this morning since about 9:00AM Eastern Time we started to experience extremely slow loading. Our server is having dropped connections to one of our network providers called Black Lotus. We do not know why they are dropping connections, but after testing it does appear to be on their end right now.

This will cause the page to either not load at all, load slowly, or you will get a "502 bad gateway" or "Wildcard 1" error. This is not a problem with damage to your board, these are just messages that are the result of a network problem.

Because this was sporadic it didn't show up on status.jcink.com and pingdom barely picked it up either, so it took some time to figure out what was going on.

We're currently working with them to hopefully have this resolved in the next hour.
