Premium Service

Today we announce the long-awaited release of our Premium Service.

Premium is a paid upgrade of our services. We offer this paid service for those who need extra features and option that aren't possible to offer for free due to system resources, or content restrictions based on our advertising service.

By offering Premium Service, we allow you to an option of greater freedom for posted content, as well as an advertisement-banner free experience. And it won't break the bank - we're offering a really great price at ~$6.65 a month when paid in advance, and only $9.99 monthly.

Support Tickets

You may have noticed that support tickets have been available since last month, though we did not advertise this feature, so we're taking the time to mention it now. This feature was coded originally for Premium only; it allows 1-on-1 ticket support for an issue directly from your board's Admin CP with staff. It has been available to all users in an effort to allow us to test the system.

However, we've decided to keep support tickets open to all users -- we think having them for everyone is beneficial. But it should be noted Support Tickets are always guaranteed as a Premium subscriber, and you get a higher priority via the ticket panel than a free user. So we have kept that element as a part of the Premium package.

Looking Ahead

In the coming months, we have a lot of exciting things to look forward to. With Premium released, we're going to refocus our attention to fixing some long standing bugs, working on the Alert System as well as User Tagging.

These, of course, will be free. We still have huge dedication to the free service as we have for the past 8 years now (side note: JFH turned 8 years old as of June 26th this year).

Additionally, we'll be looking at smaller features that can have a big impact. As of today we've added "Recent Topics" or a place to see all recent topic activity on the board index. This was one of the top small feature requests we've had in the last several months due to lack of a good working code for it, and today we've delivered it. You can enable it under "Topics posts and polls" for your forum in the Admin CP.

Forum owners have also given us feedback about ideas that could compliment Premium service. This is namely a donation system that forum owners can activate in order to get funds to help pay for Premium or their board's general upkeep. We're seriously planning this out, so there will be a development topic on it eventually.

Finally, we also want to implement Amazon Payments for Premium as well instead of just having Paypal.
